Kidepo Valley National Park When it comes to Wildlife, Kidepo Valley National Park should be the first on your bucket list for a discoverable and amazing Wildlife Safari in Uganda. It’s strategically located in the North Eastern part of Uganda and rated to be one of the biggest National Parks in Uganda characterized with both flat and hilly areas, Savannah grasslands and some parts covered with swamps.
The shortest way to reach Kidepo Valley National Park is by use of Kampala- Masindi- Gulu highway via Karuma dam. Lake Mburo National Park This park is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks which is located in Kiruhura district western part of Uganda. It is situated about 30km by road east of Mbarara, the largest city in the sub region. You can better reach the Lake Mburo National Park by use of Kampala- Masaka- Mbarara high way, its wildlife consists of Zebras, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippos, hyena, topi, reedbuck and over 350 bird species recorded sightable in this park thus highlighting it as a good site for bird watching. Murchison Falls National Park This popularly known wildlife destination is located in the North western part of Uganda. Its Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area hosting 76 species of mammals and over 451 bird species recorded sightable in this park, its bisected by the Victoria Nile which plunges 45m over the remnant rift valley wall creating the dramatic Murchison Falls, the centerpiece of the Park and the final event in an 80km stretch of rapids, the mighty cascade drains the last of the river’s energy transforming it into a broad, placid stream that flows quietly across the rift valley floor into Lake Albert.
